Terms and conditions for Self-Assessment Workshops

Course Fee

The Course Fee includes attendance of the Training Course and all Training Course hand outs.

The Course Fee does not include accommodation, meals, travel or any other expenses that may be incurred by participants. The Course Fee does not include any other facilities or equipment that is identified as being provided by participants, for example if participants are required to provide a laptop.

Booking confirmation

Once we have processed your booking, we will send you a confirmation email with an invoice. Your place is guaranteed once payment has been received and is cleared in the bank. Bookings made less than 14 days prior to the start of the course will require immediate payment.


Payment must be received within 14 days of the invoice date or in advance of the training course, whichever is the sooner and regardless of booking date. Payment can be made through:

Oscroft & Co Limited will make every effort to accommodate special requirements that have been notified in advance on the booking form.

Scope of Workshop

Telephone Meeting:

Delegates will receive a telephone meeting (approximately 20 minutes) at a pre arranged time to determine the information required to bring with them on the day. This will discuss all sources of income from the tax year from 06 April 2014 to 5 April 2014. The delegate accepts that it is their responsibility to verify that the Training Course is suitable for the requirements of the delegate attending. See above for list.

Email Checklist:

After the telephone meeting an email will be sent to the delegate to provide a checklist of items that are required to bring on the day. Oscroft & Co Limited will not be held responsible for the completeness of the checklist and the delegates should ensure that all documentation necessary is bought along to the workshop on the day.


The workshop will include one on advice as well group advice on topics that affect the majority. This will vary from session to session depending on the individuals that are booked onto the workshop.  The aim of the session is that the delegate learns how to use their own records to calculate their profits and complete their self-assessment return.  Oscroft & Co Limited does not guarantee that delegates will have submitted their self-assessment return by the end of the workshop. However, the delegate should gain enough information to enable them to complete the filing independently, if further information is required on the day. No further support will be provided by Oscroft & Co Limited after the workshop session, unless agreed by a separate arrangement.


Oscroft & Co Limited will not offer advice on the following areas as part of the workshop:

Previous tax year issues

Capital Gains Tax advice or computations

Company /  Business disposals

Benefit claims

Inheritance Tax

Course transfers & Cancellations

There is no charge for transferring your booking to the same course on an alternative date provided there is availability and 7 days’ notice is provided.  Please note that two or more participants may not share a place at an event.

Please be aware that the following cancellation charges apply:

If you fail to attend the course on which you are booked then the course fee will remain payable in full and no transfer will be allowed.

Cancellation by Oscroft & Co Limited

Where circumstances dictate, Oscroft & Co Limited  reserves the right to alter published programmes, trainers, fees or venues without prior notice. In the event of a course being cancelled, a refund of the course fee will be made but no compensation will be paid for any additional costs incurred.

Warranty and Liability

Oscroft & Co Limited shall have no liability for any use of, or any inability to use, any material supplied or knowledge gained from participation in the Workshop.

Oscroft & Co Limited’s liability for loss and damage shall be limited to a claim for damages. The maximum aggregate liability will be the charges for the Training Course out of which the loss or damage has arisen. Oscroft & Co Limited will not be liable for indirect, special or consequential loss (including loss of anticipated profit or data), howsoever arising, even if it has been advised of such potential loss.
